Eight seriously ill Palestinians have been medically evacuated from Gaza with 25 companions, World Health Organisation (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said.
The evacuation was led by WHO with the help of EU Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid, Tedros said on X.
Five patients were sent for treatment to Belgium, two to Spain and one to Romania, he added.
“At least 12,000 patients across Gaza still need medical evacuation to survive,” he stressed, urging “for the rapid and efficient use of all corridors to allow all patients to receive life-saving care in time”.
