BAHAWALPUR: Retired justice Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry, election tribunal (Bahawalpur), dismissed an election petition of PTI’s Hassan Mustafa against PPP MNA Tahir Rasheeduddin (NA-171, Rahim Yar Khan III) on Wednesday.

According to counsel Nadeem Iqbal Chaudhry of one of respondents, Sanam Hassan, candidate for NA-171 byelections, the tribunal dismissed the election petition of Hassan Mustafa for non-prosecution.

COURT: Additional Sessions Judge Hafiz Abdul Hameed of Lodhran sentenced drug trafficker Nazar Hussain to nine years imprisonment along with a fine of Rs85,000. Lodhran .police arrested him on June 5 and confiscated 1.60 kilogram charas from him. In another narcotics case, additional sessions judge Imran Safdar of Lodhran sentenced Muhammad Shehbaz to nine years along with a fine of Rs100,000 and in case of default on fine, one year more imprisonment.
