ATTOCK, April 12: Justice Akhtar Shabbir of Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench has summoned the executive district officer and the district officer (revenue), Attock, to explain their positions on allegations of irregularities in the recruitment of 23 patwaris in the revenue department in 2003.

In his petition filed before the LHC, Syed Kamran Shah, a resident of People’s Colony, said he had passed the patwari course and also did FSC with first division.

In May 2003, he applied for the post of a Patwari against 10 vacancies. He alleged that eligible candidates including himself were not recruited despite the fact that they fulfilled all the formalities and merit.

The district recruitment committee comprised the EDOR, DOR, DDOR, deputy secretary Revenue Board Punjab, EDO finance and planning.

He alleged that seven non-eligible candidates having education qualifications of matric in 3rd division had been recruited.
