Netanyahu’s cabinet is discussing plans to bring in a private American company to oversee the distribution of aid in beseiged northern Gaza, in an operation that could see Israel’s military stay in the region for three more months, Al Jazeera reports citing Israeli media outlets.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said the plan was proposed during discussions on distributing aid in Gaza, where a UN-backed committee warned of an imminent famine.
It said the plan envisages the US firm providing protection and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) managing the distribution area.
