Al Jazeera reports from the Gaza Strip that Israeli forces have renewed shelling in the vicinity of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya, in the northern part of the territory.

The director, Hussam Abu Safiya, spoke to Al Jazeera about the situation there, painting a bleak picture.

Here is what he said:

  • Malnutrition cases have begun arriving at the hospital, most of them children and the elderly, due to famine.
  • The risk of death threatens the lives of elderly patients due to the lack of medication and the spread of famine in northern Gaza.
  • Injured people lose their lives every day because there are no doctors and medication at the hospital.
