RAWALPINDI, April 10: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board offices was sealed on Monday for several hours and many employees were reshuffled by Military Lands and Cantonments (MLC) Director-General Maj-Gen Nusrat Naeem in the wake of increasing public complaints and irregularities.

Executive Officer Cantonment Rafique Sial said Land Superintendent Habibur Rehman had been transferred to Dera Ismail Khan following corruption charges against him.

Upper division clerk Yousaf Gill has been transferred to Zhob and Survey Draughtsman Mohammad Saeed Siddiqui to Karachi with immediate effect.

Mr Sial said about 25 employees had been reshuffled. He said the office was sealed to prevent those transferred from making any changes in the land record. He said mass scale reshuffling was expected in the next week to purge the office from black sheep.

The official said the move would improve the efficiency of the office, adding that it was taken following public complaints.
