Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has called for an “immediate arms embargo on Israel with the aim to put an end to Israel’s yearlong genocide against the Palestinian people”, Al Jazeera reports.

Speaking at the joint summit of the Arab League and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Riyadh yesterday, Anwar called for urgent action to end Israel’s aggression in the Middle East, AJ quotes Malaysia’s foreign ministry as saying.

The premier also called for “decisive action” to end Israel’s “blatant and unchecked aggression”, including attacks on Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, and Syria.

He urged governments to “unwaveringly support the vital role” of UNRWA, AJ added.
