The Israeli army has fired artillery and launched quadcopter drones to target the main entrance of Kamal Adwan Hospital, Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum reports from Deir el-Balah, Gaza.
Three Palestinians have been injured, according to preliminary reports by the hospital, which is going through a crisis as casualties mount and it has few supplies or personnel to treat them.
The Israeli military is also targeting high-rise buildings overlooking the Netzarim Corridor, a 6 kilometre-long strip of land established by Israel just south of Gaza City. It stretches from the boundary with Israel to the Mediterranean Sea.
Israel has been expanding the Netzarim Corridor, which now covers 58sq km. There is a heavy military presence, and this has raised concerns among Palestinians over a prolonged Israeli presence in Gaza.
