DADU: An assistant commissioner (AC) of Dadu, Samiullah Wagon, has launched an operation against illegal encroachments in the city around Munder Naka and Moro Road.

He told Dawn that during the operation, officials had confiscated various items, including tables, chairs and carts, that were obstructing the flow of vehicular traffic and way of pedestrians.

The AC said the hotel owners and shopkeepers who had encroached on the roads were warned against causing traffic disruptions and hindering smooth movement in the city.

He said the operation, which was part of an ongoing drive to clear the city’s roads of illegal encroachments, had been launched with the aim to enhance the city’s accessibility and resume beauty.

The AC emphasised that no one would be allowed to occupy the road or block passageways.

He said the shopkeepers had been advised to conduct their business activities within their designated boundaries and avoid expanding onto public spaces.

“Wide roads are being blocked by encroachments, which is affecting the overall ambiance of the city and smooth traffic flow on roads,” said Samiullah Wagan, stressing the importance of adhering to the city regulations.
