Pakistan has welcomed the latest report of the UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine Francesca Albanese, titled ‘Genocide as Colonial Erasure’.

Addressing a weekly press briefing, FO spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said the report called out Israel for “pushing through a systematic agenda of force-displacement, annihilation and genocide in Gaza and the West Bank”.

Baloch said it highlighted “how Israel has been committing genocide against the Palestinian people through acts of territorial expansion and ethnic cleansing”.

“Pakistan endorses Miss Albanese’s stance that Israel is obstructing International investigation efforts, including denying the entry of fact-finding teams from the United Nations,” the spokesperson stated.

She said Pakistan supported the expert’s call upon the global community to act “decisively in bringing an end to Israel’s unbridled atrocity against the Palestinians and to ensure unhindered humanitarian assistance to Gaza”, as well as “full financing and protection of UNRWA”.
