KARACHI, April 8: Twenty-four teams including eight departmental teams will be seen in action in All Sindh Akhter Abbas football tournament to be played here from April 17 to May 7, at Mehfooz Stadium, Malir. The tournament will be played on knockout basis.

Departmental teams taking part are Karachi Port Trust, National Bank of Pakistan, Habib Bank Limited, Karachi Electric Supply Corporation, Pakistan Works Department, Sui Southern Gas Company, Karachi Water Board and Sindh Government Press.

All the departmental outfits have been awarded direct entries in the pre quarterfinals, which will commence on April 20.

The opening match of the competition will be played between Shafiq XI and Malir Star football club on April 17.—PPI
