TOBA TEK SINGH, April 8: The Kamalia additional district and sessions judge has referred the pre-arrest bail applications of the Pirmahal gangrape accused to the Toba district and sessions judge due to some personal reasons. The D&SJ heard on Saturday the application of bail before arrest of irrigation department sub-engineer Mian Muhammad Iqbal, one of the accused of Chak 776-GB case and extended his pre-arrest bail up to April 12.

Eleven people had been booked by Arrouti police on the charge of kidnapping and raping Rukhsana, daughter of Rafiq, on March 13. Five accused of this case were already under arrest. Police had earlier declared an accused of this case, Amir of Mian Channu, as innocent as he had reportedly come to the village to obtain money given to an accused of this case for getting a Saudi visa. Meanwhile, Mian Iqbal told newsmen on Saturday that this case was fabricated against him to take revenge by a defeated union council naib nazim Zawar Shah as he had not voted for him.

He added that he was also being threatened allegedly by a patrol police sub-inspector Sabir Shah (nephew of Zawar Shah) for implicating him in other cases as well.
