HYDERABAD, April 7: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has called upon people to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and promote harmony and peace.

Some people were using

the name of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for personal and political gains, Mr Hussain said while speaking from London by telephone at a ‘Seeratun Nabi’ meeting organised by the MQM Hyderabad chapter at Phulelli Tanga stand, Paretabad, on Thursday-Friday night.

He said only Durood-o-Salam was not enough, the Muslims must follow the principles of Islam. He gave many examples from the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Deputy convener MQM Rabita Committee and MNA Dr Farooq Sattar, in-charge Rabita Committee Anwar Alam, Dr Nusrat Waseem Aftab, Shaikh Liaquat Hussain, Mazhar Iqbal, Zafar Khan, Ms Farzana Zafar, Rasheed Bhayya, Ms Aisha Aftab, Ayoub Shaikh (adviser), MNA Nisar Panhwar, zonal in-charge Siraj Rajput, Minister of State Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain, provincial ministers Syed Sardar Ahmed and Qamar Mansoor, district Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil and many other MQM leaders and MPAs from Karachi and interior Sindh were present on the occasion.
