TAXILA: A man was arrested for allegedly trying to sexually assault a teenage shepherd in the limits of Bassal police station on Sunday.

The victim reported to police that he was accompanying his cattle to a local jungle when the suspect took him to a wooded area where he overpowered him and tried to sexually assault him. However, when he raised alarm, he fled from the area. Later the police traced the suspect and sent him behind bars.

Separately, Attock Saddar police arrested a suspect wanted in robbery cases.

The police spokesman said Imran was wanted for committing robberies and the local court had declared him a proclaimed offender. On Sunday, police raided his hideout and arrested him.

Meanwhile, a teenage girl was abducted from the limits of Wah Saddar police station on Sunday.Ghulam Shabbir told police that his 15-year-old daughter went out of the house when she was abducted by unknown persons.

Meanwhile, a number of robberies were reported in Taxila and Wah.

In the first incident, two armed men looted a family in broad daylight in the jurisdiction of Taxila police station.

Raja Sajid Hussain told police that he and his family were travelling in a car when two robbers intercepted them near Paswal and snatched cash amounting to Rs200,000, gold ornaments and mobile phones from them and escaped.

Separately, two bandits snatched cash amounting to Rs250,000 from a person near Farooq Azam Mohallah while two motorcyclists snatched a mobile phone and cash from another man in the limits of the same police station.

Two robbers also snatched cash and mobile phones from Saqib Liaquat in the jurisdiction of Taxila police station while two robbers took away cash and mobile phone from Mohammad Ramzan in the limits of the same police station.

In Wah Cantonment police station, two robbers made off with cash and mobile phone of Saif Islam while two armed motorcyclists intercept Noman Rustam in Gulshan Colony and took away his motorcycle, cash and mobile phone.
