HYDERABAD, April 4: A villager and his wife have appealed to the government and superior judiciary to take notice of kidnapping of their minor daughter. Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Tuesday, Abdul Latif and Haliman of Allan Burdi village of Hyderabad taluka said that last week an influential landlord and his sons, who were armed, had barged into their house and kidnapped their minor daughter Mukhtiar, 10-11.

They said that they had approached the elders of the area but without success.

They said that they also approached local police but the police refused to register the FIR.

The couple appealed to the government and superior judiciary in the name of Almighty God to order the recovery of their minor daughter and return of looted ornaments.

Lutuf Ali and Nawaz Ali, the brother and cousin of Abdul Latif, and an elder of the area, Mohammad Juman Agheem, were also present on the occasion.

The mother of the girl kept on weeping and wailing during the press conference.

DEMAND: Ms Sughra Mazhar Memon, whose husband is accused in a murder case, has demanded that assailants of her husband should be arrested.

She demanded that illegal occupants of her house should be ejected and security be provided to her family.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club on Tuesday, she claimed that her husband Dr Mazhar Memon had been a political activist from his childhood and for his activism he was jailed for eight years.

Giving the background of the murder of JSQM leader Gul Bhatti, in which her husband is an accused, she alleged that Gul Bhatti and his group had attacked her house and resorted to indiscriminate firing in which Gul Bhatti was himself killed.

Regretting the death of Gul Bhatti, she said under a planned conspiracy her house was occupied and all the household items were looted.

She said that since this incident in 2004, all the nationalist parties, political leaders, writers and intellectuals were approached to resolve the controversy but in vain.

She said that a murderous attack was made on her husband a week back by JSQM workers in which he had received six bullet injuries.

She said that her husband was now safe and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits and protection to her family.
