KARACHI: Two women were killed when a train ran over them near Dhabeji on Wednesday, railway police said.

Pakistan Railways spokesperson Syed Qamar Rashdi said Rehman Baba Express was on its way from Peshawar to Karachi. When it was passing through a small railway bridge near Dhabeji, two women, who were trying to cross the bridge, were run over by it and died on the spot. Their identity could not be ascertained immediately.

Meanwhile, two men were killed when a trailer hit them on Superhighway on Wednesday.

Police said the men were riding a motorcycle when the heavy vehicle hit them at New Subzi Mandi. The bodies were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where their identity could not be ascertained till late in the night.
