ISLAMABAD, April 2: USAID’s Disaster Assistance Response Team (Dart) has completed its relief mission in earthquake-hit areas however it said it would continue to help the affected people in rebuilding their homes and livelihood in the affected areas.

“Just as we were here with the US military and the Dart to help the government of Pakistan with the disaster relief phase, so too will we be a long-term partner to the government and the people of Pakistan in reconstruction,” said a USAID press release quoting US Ambassador Ryan C. Crocker here on Sunday. According to the statement US humanitarian assistance, through USAID has crossed $80 million. This was part of a more than $510 million US commitment that includes $200 million for reconstruction during the next four years and contributions from other US agencies and the US private sector.—Our Reporter
