HYDERABAD, April 2: Sindh Teachers’ Action Committee chairman Qazi Aminuddin has severely criticised the statements of the Sindh chief minister and the education minister against the teaching community.

He claimed that unions and organizations had always played a positive role in strengthening the institutions.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said the statements of the chief minister and the education minister were aimed at harassing teachers and added that teachers’ organizations comprised patriotic elements who were serving the cause of education. He demanded that a roundtable conference should be convened and a code of conduct prepared to end the ongoing cold war between the government and teachers.
