KARACHI, April 2: The DCO of Karachi, Fazalur Rehman, on Sunday said special attention was being paid by the city government for resolution of health and education related problems in city. He was talking to a delegation of the Sindh Teachers Forum (STF) led by its General Secretary, Adeel Ahmed, said a statement.

The DCO said that effective measures were being taken by the city government for rehabilitation of the health and educational sectors in the city.

Besides, overcoming staff shortage, other necessary equipment and provision of all required facilities will be ensured at all these health units and education centres in the city, he added.

In this connection, committees comprising public and private sector representatives have already been constituted by the City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal. These committees are working to present their suggestions and proposals regarding development of health and education sector.

As soon as their suggestions are received, the city government will ensure their implementation.

He said practical steps were also being taken by the city govt to safeguard the rights of teachers.

The visiting delegates further apprised the DCO about the shortage of staff in new colleges.—APP
