Lahore Zone clinch COAS Cup

RAWALPINDI, April 1: Lahore Zone edged out Rawalpindi Zone by half a goal to capture the title of COAS Cup polo at Rawalpindi Polo Club on Saturday. The half-goal advantage proved decisive as Lahore beat Rawalpindi by the same margin (six and half goals to six goals).

For Lahore Zone, Col. Mujahid Umer Khan slammed home four goals while Lt. Shayan Abbasi and Lt. Col. Mohammad Afzal Meher got one goal each.

Aamanat Ali was the fourth player in the Lahore team.

Maj. Asif Zahoor scored five goals for Rawalpindi for whom LD Malik Khan chipped home one goal.

Maj. Gen. Bilal Umer Khan and Brig. Sikander Ali were the other two players in the Rawalpindi team.

Lt. Col. Sajid Nisar of Bahawalpur Zone received special performance award.—APP
