KARACHI, April 1: The Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) on Saturday took action against antenna towers of cellular phone companies erected without the authority’s permission.

A demolition squad of the KBCA razed a BTS room connected to a cellular phone antenna tower on the West Land Trade Centre, Plot No C-5CC in blocks 7 and 8 of the KCHS.

The demolition squad also disbanded and sealed another cellular phone antenna tower on plot no 5A-62, Block 5 of the PECHS.

Meanwhile, the KBCA declared the Green Field City project in Gadap Town and the Muslim City project in Scheme 33, Taiser Town, as illegal, and warned citizens not to enter into any transaction regarding these projects otherwise they would be responsible for their losses.

It said that the Green Field City project at surveys No 160, 161 and 162, Deh Shah Mureed, Gadap Town was illegal, as it had not obtained any NOC for advertising or for selling commercial and residential plots. The KBCA in this regard issued a show-cause notice to the Maryland Builders and Developers.

While the authority said that the Muslim City project in blocks no 14/B, 13 and 15, Taiser Town Scheme-45, was also illegal for advertising and selling plots.

It said that due to violation of construction rules, the KBCA had registered a case in the court against the builders/developers of the Muslim City project.

Meanwhile, the demolition squads of the KBCA also razed various illegal constructions at Ghafoor Chambers, Aram Bagh, Jamshed Town, PECHS and other areas.—PPI
