SWABI, March 31: The Queen Mary University of London and Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology will collaborate in different fields of engineering education.

The decision was taken at a meeting of academicians of the two universities. Pat Power, head of international programme, Prof William Marsh, the department of computer science, and Prof Ian Dufour, the department of electronic engineering, visited the GIKI on Friday.

They also discussed about opening new vistas of collaboration to benefit from each other’s experiences.

The meeting also discussed split MS programmes leading to PhDs, exchange of faculty and interaction between the experts of the two institutes, launching of joint research projects, manufacturing engineering, nanotechnology, designing, funding procedures and cooperation in communication field.

Mr Pat Power said five students of the GIKI and a gold medalist were already perusing their PhD studies in the Queen Mary University and with the joint research projects, the number of the students could increase.
