KARACHI, March 31: Condemning the interference of army vigilance teams in the railways recruitment process, the workers have demanded to strictly follow the departmental employment procedure.

In a statement the Pakistan Railway Workers Federation said that during the recent recruitment drive for employing cleaners and helpers in BPS 1, the applicants were made to run, do various exercises, and do sweeping, etc , all of which was against the recruitment rules of the Pakistan Railways.

The federation demanded that the recruitment and tests be carried out under the Railway Laws and Personnel Manual and that all the army vigilance teams be called back from civilian duties and sent back to their parent organisation so that they could do a job for which they were trained.
