Punjab rout Sindh

LAHORE, March 29: Punjab and Balochistan scored second consecutive wins against Sindh and NWFP by identical margins of 6-0 in the Inter-provincial girls U-17 hockey championship at the National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.

Two goals each by Tehmina Siddique, Sidra Riaz and Ayesha Rafi helped Punjab to overcome Sindh. Punjab earned 12 short-corners while Sindh failed to get a single one.

Two goals each by Sakeena Nadir and Masooma Salman enabled Balochistan to carve out win against NWFP.

Shazia Ishtaq and Kaneez Qadir chipped in with one goal each. Thursday is the last day.

Punjab will meet Balochistan and the winners will secure the first position.

Sindh will play NWFP and the winners will finish third in the four-team competition.
