ATTOCK/TAXILA, March 29: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Wednesday visited his constituency Attock as well as Taxila where he inaugurated Bhattar interchange on Burhan motorway section of M-1 and also performed the ground-breaking of a polytechnic college near Heavy Mechanical Complex, Taxila.

In Attock, the prime minister addressed a public gathering near Bhattar village after inaugurating the interchange.

He said a development package worth Rs1 billion had been announced for the district under which projects like improvement of sanitation, provision of clean drinking water, gas, education, health and construction of roads were underway. He said electricity would be made available to every village in Attock district.

Mr Aziz also announced that an industrial estate would be constructed near Burhan section of Islamabad-Peshawar motorway which would create job opportunities and improve economic condition of the district.

He said the new airport project near Fatehjang would bring prosperity to Attock. He said work on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1) till Charsadda would be completed this year and till Peshawar by next year. He said dualization of Tarnol-Kohat Road and Hassanabdal-Mansehra Road was also underway.
