As Iran continues to promise it will retaliate against Israel, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has signalled he does not plan to submit to pressure, Al Jazeera reports.

“According to the Quran, nontactical retreat in any field, whether military or the political, publicity and economic fields, will be followed by divine wrath,” he was quoted as saying to a group of provincial government, military and religious authorities by his website.

“The goal of the enemy in creating psychological warfare in the military field is to create fear and retreat,” Khamenei said.

“Ever since the victory of the [1979] revolution, the enemies have been telling our nation through various means that you must be afraid of America, England and the Zionists.”
