SARGODHA: Zhao Shirin, Chinese consul general in Lahore, has announced the ‘Consular General Scholarship’ for University of Sargodha students.

The announcement was made during a meeting with Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas, vice chancellor of the University of Sargodha, where Mr Zhao presented a cheque for Rs1 million to support both merit-based and financially disadvantaged students at the university.

Prof Abbas expressed his gratitude for the generous contribution, highlighting the significant impact the scholarship will have on students’ educational journeys. “This scholarship is not just a financial contribution; it is an investment in the future of our students and the strong educational ties between our two nations,” he said.

He said the initiative by Mr Shirin reflects the strong bond between Pakistan and China, particularly in the field of education.
