CHARSADDA: The Charsadda police on Sunday arrested two notorious international ice drug smugglers and seized the contraband from their possession here.

The action was taken on the orders of district police officer Masood Ahmed.

DSP city Abdul Rasheed Khan, SHO Parang police station Behrmand Shah Khan, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Mehboob conducted successful operations on a tip-off.

The police arrested notorious ice smuggler, Nasir Ali, a resident of Chandro Dag area of the Tangi tehsil, and recovered three kilogrammes of ice drug, which was concealed in the secret compartments of a vehicle. The police also recovered 200 grams of ice from his pockets.

In the second action, Sajjad, a resident of Ajoon Kallay area, was arrested with two kilogrammes of ice drug, which was also concealed in the secret compartments of a vehicle.

The police registered cases against the drug smugglers and started further investigations.

Meanwhile, children of private

schools distributed national flags and flowers among traders and traffic police at the Farooq Azam Chowk in connection with the Independence Day celebrations.

The businessmen and traffic police personnel appreciated the patriotism of the schoolchildren.
