Canal closure announced

SUKKUR March 27: The Superintending Engineer, Desert Pat Feeder Circle, Sukkur, has announced that all canals off-taking from the Guddu Barrage would remain closed from April 1 to 30(both days inclusive) for the purpose of normal inspection, maintenance and necessary repairs of infrastructure.

During the above period there would be no flow of water in any of the off-taking canals viz Ghotki Feeder, Begari Sindh Feeder and Desert Pat Feeder respectively.

This was stated in an official press note issued here on Monday.

ASTROTURF: DCO Shafique Ahmed Khoso held a meeting with the Director Sports and Youth Affairs Sindh and the Civil Engineer Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad, where it was decided to change the site of Astroturf from Manzil Gah Play Ground to Z.A. Bhutto Sports Complex, Sukkur. Earlier, the director sports and youth affairs visited the site of the astroturf and assured him of providing one vehicle for players.
