DERA GHAZI KHAN: On the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Secretary C&W Punjab reached Rojhan Mazari to launch the construction of a steel bridge as Ozman Road has been cut off by floods.
Every year, people of Rojhan face a lot of hardships due to hill torrents .
For a permanent solution to the problem, the prime minister sanctioned the project.
MEETING: More than 600 flood-affected people have been moved to a safe places as Zangi Nala in Rajanpur is in spate.
DGK Commissioner Dr Nasir Mehmood Bashir presided over a meeting regarding the flood situation in Indus river and hill torrents. He said getting cattle herds to higher grounds was also necessary.
The meeting noted that there was a flood situation in storm water channels of Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan due to rain in Sulaiman range. Several villages in the suburbs of Chak Dilbar, Chakmat 2, Wah Machka have been flooded.
So far no loss of life was reported
MUZAFFARGARH: Kot Addu Deputy Commissioner Syed Munwar Abbas Bukhari has issued alert to families living in river belt to vacate the area.
He said relief camps, if required, would be established in the area.
He said the flood situation was still normal in the areas near the 34 RD spur. He said an irrigation team was working to strengthen the super.
