SIALKOT, Feb 4: The president SME Bank Ltd, Kaiser H. Naseem has said that the Bank will soon design a grand package of incentives in collaboration with Smeda to develop the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of Sialkot, besides making more easier the early provision of the soft loons on long-term basis.

He was addressing a joint meeting of the local traders, industrialists and exporters at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) after visiting various industrial units in Sambrial, Daska and Sialkot, on Monday.

He said that the corporate branch of the SME Bank Ltd would soon be established at Sialkot for the better and early provision of the loan facilities to the Sialkot business community as the Sialkot-based SMEs have great potential to form the backbone of the economy.

The SME Bank’s chief said that the bank was also chalking out a comprehensive programme to give the needed training to the SMEs through Smeda and SCCI to keep better records and institute better control systems.

He said, “we are focusing on Sialkot-based SMEs and adequate efforts are being made for the early starting of this grand support programme.” Under this programme, the SME Bank would also provide technical and credit facilities on long-term basis, he said.

Trade export promotion and industries development programme is being initiated with the consultation of the government and private sectors.

Kaiser H. Naseem said that small industries played an important role in country’s economy. They, in fact, provide the base for industrial development and economic growth. Many big economics of the modern world, like Japan, have been focussing on small industries.

Earlier, the president, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Daud Ahmad Chatta and SVP Navid Iqbal Shaikh lauded government’s devolution of power.

They said its results would be far-reaching and would augment new era of development when people would be involved in decision-making.
