Murtaza got infuriated and cut the throat of his brother Umar Farooq with a sharp-edged knife as a result of which the latter died on the spot and the suspect fled the scene.

A team of Gujranwala police reached the scene and shifted the body to district headquarter hospital for autopsy.

The Punjab Forensic Science Agency staff also reached the spot to collect evidence from the scene.

The Garjakh police station have registered a case against nominated accused Ghulam Murtaza under section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the report of Farooq’s widow Maah Noor.
