Sami Khan passes away

LAHORE, March 24: Former Pakistan international hockey player, Mohammad Sami Khan, died of cardiac arrest. A versatile defender, Sami represented Pakistan during late 1960s and early 70s.

Sami was employed by Pakistan Customs and he retired as an Assistant Collector. He also managed Pakistan Junior team.

Sami was laid to rest in Lalazar Colony graveyard on Friday.

His funeral was attended by former Olympians Ch. Akhtar Rasool, Munir Dar, Khawaja Zakauddin, Col (R) Zafar Ahmad Zafari, Tariq Aziz and Naveed Alam.

His Qul will be observed on Saturday at 120-B Lalazar Colony, Thokhar Niaz Baig, at 8:00am.—APP
