LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered monitoring of public service departments through technology.

Presiding over a meeting here on Monday she was briefed on the process of incorporating public opinion into government decisions and policy making.

She directed retired Brig Babar Alauddin, CM Directorate of Evaluation head, to devise a modern training mechanism for the administration and police.

“The establishment of performance index has increased a sense of responsibility in officers. The performance index should be strictly monitored. The role of this department is very important to ensure good governance,” she said.

She said the government was focused on providing maximum relief to the poor. “Inflation is not acceptable in any case, all relevant institutions should monitor in the field,” she said and added the price of chicken should not be beyond the reach of the common man, rather it should be kept in check.

She expressed concern over artificial increase in the price of chicken.
