CHITRAL: People of Broze village in Lower Chitral have unanimously decided to carry out a boycott of those villagers involved in drug peddling and drug addicts in the area. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, the elders of village including Maulana Shujaur Rehman, Maulana Said Azeem and others said that the menace of charas and other narcotics was badly damaging the young people of the area.

They said that vigilance committees had been formed with five mosques in the area to check and monitor the activities of the suspects.

The elders expressed their resolve that their intervention to discourage the drug peddling and other social evils would be a source of inspiration for the entire district to unite against the drug peddlers.

Flanked by the village elders, a notorious drug peddler of the areas repented for his past negative activities and vowed to join the villagers in their fight against drug trafficking.
