PESHAWAR: Charge’ d Affaires of the embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to Pakistan Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma reiterated the commitment of his country to strengthening economic ties with Pakistan, especially with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said this during his visit to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KP-BOIT), here on Friday.

KP-BOIT Director Business Facilitation Iqbal Sarwar gave the Indonesian delegation a detailed presentation on vision, mission and role of KP-BOIT and potential sectors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for joint collaboration. He invited the business community of Indonesia to invest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and utilise the easy access for export to Afghanistan, Central Asia and Peoples Republic of China. He also invited the ambassador of Indonesian business community to attend KP-BOITs International Investment and Trade Expo at Islamabad, scheduled in September this year.

Rahmat Hindiarta commended the efforts of KP-BOIT in creating a conducive environment for foreign investment, and assured continuous cooperation in realising joint goals. He shared information about Indonesian market and its development through a detailed documentary and presentation.

He also invited the business community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through KP-BOIT to attend 39th Trade Expo in Indonesia, which was scheduled in October this year.

Meanwhile, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) president Fuad Ishaq called for strengthening bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Indonesia.

He was talking to the Charge’ d Affaires of the embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to Pakistan; Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma and members of his delegation during their visit to the chamber, here on Friday.Mr Kusuma, in his multi-media presentation, said that the bilateral trade volume was far away from potentials of the both countries. He stressed the need for establishment of business to business (B2B) contacts and taking mutual benefits from each other’s potentials, experience and promotion of cooperation in multiple-sectors, including tourism, education, health and others.
