56 players attend trials

KARACHI, March 22: Two-day trials to select two Karachi regional teams commenced on Wednesday with 56 players appeared at the Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium. Players who could not attend the proceedings on the first day could appear in the trials on the second day on Thursday.

The teams will be announced after completion of the trials, said a Pakistan Hockey Federation press release on Wednesday.

The first day trials were held under supervision of five-member selection committee comprising Olympian Akhtarul Islam, M. Abdul Saeed Khan, Moin Rauf, Amjad Khan and Shaidul Islam.—PPI
