KARACHI: A free morgue with the capacity to store 1,000 bodies at a time was formally opened on Wednesday.

The facility has been built by JDC Foundation near the Sohrab Goth flyover on Shahrah-i-Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Shah said that the morgue will also be linked to Rescue 1122.

JDC secretary general Zafar Abbas thanked the Sindh government for providing the land for the project. He said that a free funeral bus service would also be provided for burial in the city.
