18 hurt as van plunges into ravine

MANSEHRA, March 21: At least 18 people, including four women, were injured on Tuesday when a passengers van plunged into a ravine near Chatta Batta Rairh in Mansehra district. The van was en route to Balakot from Mansehra.

The accident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn near Chatta Batta Rairh.

Four critically injured persons were admitted to the Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad.

The injured were identified as Jannat Fida Bibi, Hafiza Bibi, Nusrat Bibi, Kosar Bibi, Gul Hasan, Mohammad Sharif, Salahuddin, Ghulam Mustafa, Umeer, Saeed Ahmed, Ghulam Nabi, Shehzada, Dabir and Mazafar.

Five of the other injured were discharged after receiving first-aid at the district headquarters hospital in Mansehra.
