RAWALPINDI: Following the direction of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench, eateries in the garrison city took the matter related to fixation of price with the Director General Prices, who assured to stop Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner from surprise checking of the restaurants, till the amicable solution of the matter.

President of the Rawalpindi Restaurants Caterers Sweets and Bakers Association Mohammad Farooq Chaudhry said that the Rawalpindi High Court has been approached against the unbalanced roti price and in compliance with the court direction, a delegation of the restaurant association met Director General Industries, Price, Weight and Measure Punjab Asif Ali Farrukh.

According to him, Farrukh conveyed to him that until the issue is resolved the Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner will halt checking the bread rates in the city’s restaurants.

The association had challenged the bread price notification issued by the Director General in May through a writ petition in the Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court.
