KARACHI: Three persons, including a woman and her granddaughter, were electrocuted in two separate incidents in the city on Wednesday, police said.
In Baldia Town, Saeedabad SHO Qamar Kiani said, Ruksana Riyasat, 45, suffered an electric shock when she turned on a water pumping machine inside her home. Seeing that, her seven-year-old granddaughter, Alishba, rushed to rescue her. However, she also suffered an electric shock and both of them died on the spot.
The bodies were shifted to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
In another incident, a labourer, Jamaluddin, 60, died when he received an electric shock while doing shuttering work of a home in Raees Amrohi Colony of Orangi Town, Iqbal Market SHO Shahbaz Yusuf said.
The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
