LAKKI MARWAT, March 17: Police seized 4.8 kg opium and arrested two women on drug smuggling charges here on Friday. Ghaznikhel police acting on a tip-off stopped two Dera Ismail Khan-bound coaches and arrested the two women who were taking 4.8 kilogramms of opium to Punjab.

They were identified as Ms Gulnaz, widow of Munawar, and Yasmeen, daughter of Gul Nawaz, both residents of Serai Naurang tehsil of the Lakki Marwat district.

OUTLAWS HELD: Police said that 33 outlaws have been arrested and huge quantities of arms and ammunition and other contraband seized over the last two weeks.

A handout issued here on Friday said that police launched a drive against criminals and arrested 33 outlaws and seized 40 rifles including Kalashnikov Kalakov assault rifles, 21 pistols, 1,104 bullets and 1.14 kg hashish.
