LAHORE, March 16: A three-day international symposiumon “applications of plant sciences in emerging scenario” willbe held at Government College University, Faisalabad, from March20.
According to a press release issued here Thursday, the symposium is being held under the aegis of the Department of Botany, GC University, Faisalabad, Higher Education commission, Pakistan Science Foundation and National Commission of Bio-Technology Pakistan. Dozens of International and National Scientists, researchScholars and renowned Botanists, including Dr Antoon Akkehrmans (Netherlands), Dr Alison Roberts (UK), Dr Munir Ozturk (Turkey), Dr Sardial Sakali (Turkey), Dr Rob Briddon (UK), Dr Ashraf Hassan (USA) and Dr Mannal Hassan (Egypt) will deliver lectures. Governor and GCU Chancellor Khalid Maqbool will be the Chief guest.
The aim of holding the symposium is to find out new areas in plant science research to meet future demands forfood and natural resources. It will continue till March 22.—APP
