Pentangular Cup from March 30

LAHORE, March 15: Five top teams of the current season including Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold and Silver leagues and Patron’s Trophy winners will feature in the Pentangular Cup, a first class event, to be played from March 30 to April 26. Last time, the Cup was held in 1995.

Sialkot Region, the winners of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold and runners-up Faisalabad, Karachi Harbour, the champions of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver along with the winners of Patron’s Trophy, National Bank of Pakistan and runners-up PIA are featuring in the tournament.

A total cash prize of Rs one million will be at stake.

The winners will receive Rs600,000, the runner-up Rs300,000. Five individual prizes of Rs20,000 each will also be up for grabs. Faisalabad and PIA will play the opening match at the Qadhafi Stadium from March 30 to April 2.

The team which will secure maximum points will lift the Cup.

Fixtures:

March 30-April 2: Faisalabad vs PIA; Qadhafi Stadium, Lahore.

March 31-April 3: Sialkot vs NBP; Multan Stadium, Multan.

April 6-8: Sialkot vs Faisalabad; Qadhafi Stadium; PIA vs Karachi Harbour; Multan Stadium.

April 11-14: Sialkot vs Karachi Harbour; Qadhafi Stadium; Faisalabad vs NBP; Multan Stadium.

April 17-20: Faisalabad vs Karachi Harbour; Qadhafi Stadium; NBP vs PIA; Multan Stadium.

April 23-26: NBP vs Karachi Harbour; Qadhafi Stadium; Sialkot vs PIA; Multan Stadium.
