JHANG, March 15: The Tehsil Municipal Administration has directed a union council nazim and his brother, who is chairman of a citizens community board, to return within seven days the amount received by the board from it for three development projects or face action under clause 10(2) of the CCB rules.

According to the letter written by the TMA to UC 45 Kot Sai Singh nazim Riaz Naul and his brother Mushtaq Naul, chairman of the CCB, they approved three development projects and the former used his influence to get Rs1.5 million from the departments concerned in three instalments on March 12, June 23 and 30, 2005.

According to the terms of the agreement, the CCB was supposed to complete the projects within three months and submit vouchers for record and verification. But the CCB failed to even start the work.

DEATH SENTENCE: Additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday convicted four people of murder of a taxi driver.

According to the prosecution, convicts Raiz Husain, Azizur Rehman and Bilal rented a taxi from Mochiwala with the help of Anwar Husain. The three convicts took the taxi to Mianwali where they killed the driver and drove away with the vehicle.

The court handed down death sentence to Riaz, Aziz and Bilal along with 10 years’ RI each.
