BAHAWALNAGAR: District police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two men on the charge of raping a minor girl, filming the assault and threatening her with dire consequences.

As per the First Information Report (FIR) registered on the complaint of the victim’s father, Muhammad Yaseen, a labourer of Basti Bholewala, with Mandi Sadiq Ganj police, he and his wife had gone to a nearby village, leaving their two minor daughters home.

He says on May 8 night, his 12-year-old daughter was asleep at his house, along with her 10-year-old sister, when two armed men barged in.

He says that the suspects took his elder daughter to a nearby field at gunpoint, where they raped her and also recorded video of the crime.

They threatened the girl to upload the video on social media if she informed anyone about the incident.

The father says that two days after the incident, when he and his wife returned home, the girl informed them about the incident. The family, on May 11, approached the police and lodged a case against the suspects.

On Sunday, the police arrested the suspects and started investigation.

Police sources told Dawn that the medical-legal report confirmed the rape of the girl.
