DERA MURAD JAMALI: Jamiat-i-Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP) General Secretary of Nasirabad Hafiz Ali Ahmed Khaiazai was shot dead by unidentified armed men in Bari Shakh area of Nasirabad on Saturday.

According to police, the attackers opened fire in Balan Shakh Goth Qamar-Din of Manjo-shori area and escaped. The JUP leader suffered multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot.

The police shifted the JUP leader’s body to Dera Murad Jamali hospital. The body was later handed over to family members after completing medico-legal formalities. Police have registered a case and are investigating.

In another attack, an Oil and Gas Development Corporation Limited employee was burnt to death and two others suffered serious burns after their car caught fire when unknown armed men opened fire on them.

Officials said the incident took place at the Quetta-Sukkur highway near Dera Murad Jamali. Police shifted the body and the injured people to a hospital.

The deceased was identified as Saeed Ali Bugti and injured as Abid and Khalid, who have been sent to Larkana for treatment in serious condition.
