RAWALPINDI: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi will organise historic tent pegging competition on May 11 and 12 at PHA Gorakhpur Nursery, where teams from other parts of the country are also participating.

PHA Director General Ahmed Hasan Ranjha said that the PHA has finalised all arrangements. “Our rural culture is reflected in these horse riding and tent pegging competitions organised by PHA Rawalpindi. A large number of horse riders from all over the country are participating in this event. These competitions are very popular, and in recent years, the sport has been popularised and appreciated in the cities as well,” he said.

Mr. Ranjha has said that PHA is also utilising all available resources for the development and upgradation of public parks to ensure quality recreational facilities for the citizens of Rawalpindi.

He said that he has issued instructions for the upgradation and cleaning measures of the parks in Rawalpindi. He said that the renovation, upgradation, and cleaning facilities of the parks in Rawalpindi are being ensured, and the revamping and upgradation work at all the public parks will be ensured within the stipulated time.

He also pointed out that, apart from improving the cleanliness and security of the parks, all respective issues are being resolved to repair the walking tracks, lights, swings, and benches.
