DADU: Newly-appointed governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, visited the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan and Bhuttos’ mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto village on Wednesday.

The governor told journalists after placing a chador on the saint’s grave that he was grateful to Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Ms Faryal Talpur, who entrusted to him responsibility to serve people of the province.

He was accompanied by provincial minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Jamshoro PPP leader Syed Asif Ali Shah, Jamshoro deputy commissioner and other officers.

Talking to journalists outside Bhuttos’ mausoleum, Kundi said that he would play the role of a bridge between the centre and province and avoid tension between the Chief Minister House and Governor House as it could harm people of the province.

He said: “The situation in KP is fast deteriorating “therefore we must sit together to discuss the law and order conditions.”

He ruled out talks with those who did not believe in the Constitution and the law of the land and said President Asif Ali Zardari, who was currently visiting Balochistan would come to KP to apprise himself of the problems of the province.

“No matter whether the chief minister comes to the Governor’s House or not, it will not make any difference,” he said in answer to a question.

He said that the chief minister was criticising PPP leadership only to cover up his weakness, inefficiency and incompetency.
