SWABI: Two brothers were killed over a land dispute in a Topi village here on Wednesday, Rescue 1122 and police officials said.

A rescue official said a team provided first aid to two men seriously injured and shifted them to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Topi, where they succumbed to injuries.

The deceased were identified as Tayyab Khan, 40, and Jahanzeb Khan, 35.

Sultan Zeb registered an FIR with the police, stating his brothers were trying to stop some labourers from harvesting wheat crop on a disputed land when Sherinzada, Gulzada and Goharzada, who were also present there, opened fire at his brothers, injuring them critically. Later, they died in hospital.

Meanwhile, the police arrested a man, who had allegedly killed his wife in Jalbai village of Chota Lahor, according to a press release issued by the police.

Mohammad Nabi had gone into hiding after the incident, but the police traced him.

DSP Chota Lahor Fazal Sher Khan said a team traced the accused in a far-flung area and arrested him during a raid.

Also in the day, a Peshawar Electric Supply Company official was injured when owner of a house attacked him for removing illegal connection in Yar Hussain village on Wednesday, Pesco officials said.

They said the injured, Khizar Hayat, was shifted to Bacha Khan Medical Complex, Shahmansoor.

The Yar Hussain police registered an FIR against the accused, Shahid Khan.
